Straight from my heart – A glimpse into what makes my fellow Panelists so very precious to me.
Three incredible Moms named Amanda joined the Panel with me in 2010. Today I’m excited to share a little bit about Amanda W with you. The blessed Mom of 2 beautiful children, Amanda lives in Georgia with her family.
Upon returning from my Training Trip in December of 2009, I wrote my Trip Report. In it, this is how I described her: “Amanda W is ton of fun. She cracked me up at Hoop Dee Doo…’pork and beans’. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her until on the Magical Express on the way back to the airport. It was there that I discovered that we shared our Faith in common. She is a doll, full of energy and passion.”
Our first night of our Training Trip, we all rode Toy Story Mania together. We took this group photo at the exit.
Back row: Bernie, Jonas.
Middle row: Me, Portia, Amanda W, Suzannah, Andi.
Front: Maribel, Terry, Joel, Maria, Kathie
On the third night of our trip, we all enjoyed Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue. Amanda was at my table, along with fellow Panelists Jonas, Joel, Terry and Karen. Lauren from PR also joined us. It was at this meal that some of my favorite memories of Amanda were made. If you’ve never experienced Hoop-Dee-Doo, then you need to add it to your bucket list. If you have, then you know exactly why a “bucket” is the perfect word choice…buckets of chicken, buckets of salad, tin bowls of beans, slabs of cornbread…the list goes on. Amanda especially enjoyed the ‘pork and beans’…
What an awesome experience!
Unfortunately, our schedules haven’t coincided and I haven’t seen Amanda since our Training Trip nearly two and a half years ago. However, I read her blogs regularly and keep up with her through Facebook and Twitter. Amanda is a very active blogger. In addition, she is a former children’s minister. Last Christmas, she released her first eBook. It is called Truth in the Tinsel: An Advent Experience for Little Hands.
Described by Amanda, “It called parents to action–to capture December and use it to pull back the curtain on the holidays–to really see the LOVE and LIFE God gave us at Christmas.” Her eBook was an overwhelming success and she has recently committed to take one of her blogs, Impress Your Kids to a whole new level.
Amanda is currently on hiatus from the Panel. I am looking forward to the day when our paths will cross again.
