Thoughtful Thursday – A Forever Friend

Sharing simple motivational quotes that have touched me in some way.

In 2 short days, my sister is coming to visit me. God blessed me with 5 brothers, but it wasn’t until I was about 22 that I first met my sister. Trina and I share a bond much deeper than blood, it’s a connection that time and distance can’t even begin to touch. She lives in Idaho now, and I’m in Cape Cod. These days, we only get to see each other every few years. :( We’re both turning 40 next week, so we’re celebrating together. I simply can not wait to reconnect with one of life’s greatest treasures…my dearest friend Trina.

Here are a few quotes that seem perfect…

The most beautiful discovery true friends make is that they can grow separately without growing apart. ~Elisabeth Foley

Trina and I – Portland, OR – 1996

“It takes a long time to grow an old friend.”
– by John Leonard

Trina and I - Cape Cod - 2009

“The better part of one’s life consists of his friendships.”
– Abraham Lincoln

In 2008, I wrote a blog post detailing a bit about the friendship that Trina and I share. You can read that HERE.

I hope each and every one of my readers has a Trina in their lives. It’s priceless to have someone that you can count on through thick and thin, and someone that you know no matter how much time has passed you can pick up where you left off.
